Our Philosophy

A therapeutic relationship can provide a safe space while you work to uncover what helps you feel grounded, inspired and uniquely you.   During our work together, we aim to guide you to a better understanding of yourself and support you in the journey of reaching your goals. We may explore your past and present, your internal and external world, and your thoughts beliefs and emotions to understand what may be troubling you. We will work not only to build a healing relationship between us, but also help create a healing relationship within yourself. ​

The Counseling Process

Counseling is a collaborative process between client and therapist, so finding a therapist who helps you feel heard and understood is imperative.  The process of counseling looks different for each individual and can be filled with both challenge and fulfillment. It is important to understand that counseling can be difficult and often includes exploring painful thoughts, emotions, and beliefs.  Our priority when working with individuals is to support them while they explore their issues, help them see and utilize their strengths, and develop skills to handle future struggles.  Often, an added gift is individuals coming to understand themselves more fully and with more compassion. 

 We take a holistic approach to mental health and encourage clients to take an active role in their own treatment. Incorporating a healthy lifestyle is an important part of mental health.  Together, we can explore what is difficult and work towards wellness.
